Hi, my name is Gloria van Weerden. Thanks for dropping in to my portfolio!

I am a User Experience Designer, with a passion for creating seamless and captivating products. I hope you enjoy flipping through my portfolio.

About Me

Get to know me!

I have always had a passion for taking things apart; pens, home appliances, and bikes. You name it, and I have probably tried taking it apart to discover what makes it tick. This knack is what drew me to become a User Experience Designer. In every job I complete, from baking at Tim Hortons to Jira tickets at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, I enjoy deciphering the details. And with these varying teams, I appreciate being an active member and bringing my creativity and determination to every aspect.

When I am not working, I enjoy playing guitar, camping, and practicing karate. If you have any questions, I would love to hear from you. Just follow the button below!

Projects During my time at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, I had the pleasure of participating with great teams on many projects. Here are a curated list of my favourites to best displays what I can bring to your team.

Integrative Conservation Clinic

This was a Capstone project completed over the full final year for the William & Mary University in Virginia. With a team of seven, we worked with Dr. Alexandra Sabo to create a platform for professionals in the conservation industry.

Diamond Ride

Diamond Ride is an app designed for the students of Laurier Brantford. While it might be the Golden Hawks second home, Brantford is not included in many bus or train routes keeping students isolated. With this app, we hope to not only provide ease of transport but to create a stronger community.

Rathfon Design

This could be called my take on a classic. Rathfon Machine and Tool was the name of my family's machining business up until 2018. The original logo was a clip art heron. In a Graphic Design course at Laurier, I created a new branding guide for the business for a more professional and modern image.
